Hydrogen Bus Alliance
Hydrogen-powered public busses show a promising potential to become the predominant technology for a sustainable short-distance traffic system. However, this concept is only feasible provided that a viable hydrogen infrastructure is installed and the technology can be used at competitive prices.
To let come true emission-free inner-city traffic in the near future some international partners have united to form the Hydrogen Bus Alliance to build a unified user base for hydrogen-driven busses and to enable an accelerated market introduction for the common good.
The Alliance essentially aims at:
1. Joint use of available information on the acquisition of hydrogen busses – before long, every city in the region is expected to launch a fleet of at least 5 hydrogen busses.
2. Acquisition of new customers and regions willing to use hydrogen busses and join the Alliance.
3. Development of a common joint strategy to bring to market hydrogen busses on a larger scale. To do so, the Alliance has started the industry dialogue in 2007 and wants to establish a viable commercial utilization in the phase between 2010 and 2015.
